Obesity is a Major deal.

Obesity: A disorder characterized by being overweight.

Obesity is a Big Issue

It is. Everything that is health-related is a big risk, things such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, arthritis, back problems, high blood pressure, stroke, and diabetes.
According to the World Health Organization, it was estimated that 9.8% of adults were obese in 2005. That has be 400 million people!
And now that we know that heart disease and diabetes are big risk factors, there is one thing that hasn't come to mind- cancer.

For example,

A published journal, Lance Oncology, a new study found that Asians who where overweight/obese are at greater risk of dying from cancer compared to people at a normal weight. 21% were at heightened risk and 6% were for being overweight.

Obesity can be linked to cancers such as colon, rectum, breast, ovary, cervix, prostate, and leukemia.

This is serious people!

Historically people native to Asian countries have been slender, but with the growth of the Western diet and lifestyle, obesity rates among Asians have skyrocketed, particularly in China.
Reports now that between 1985 and 2000 of the rate of childhood obesity in China has increased. The government's raising concerns are hoping to take a much more active role in the prevention of obesity.
People need to realize their intake of food and how it can affect them nutritionally. There are so many people out there who have all these problems within themselves who don't even realize why or how they have gotten this way.

Another big concern is women who are overweight and pregnant.
There is a large risk of getting a miscarriage if you are overweight. Complications and infertility happen if you are obese.
A healthy weight can go a long way in a successful pregnancy, achieving that can help women become pregnant and increase their chances of carrying the baby all the way to the 9-month period.

A way to keep your body in the healthy weight category:

-Eat smaller portions. The size of your hand is best example.
-Cancel out fast-food and processed foods. When you see microwavable meals in grocery stores, even if they are low in calories, they are soo high in fat, salt and sugar. You don't even know it. Look at the ingredients. No bueno.
-Choose a variety of colorful vegitables and fruits.
-Cancel out white starches. Whole Wheat Multigrain is your best bet as far as breads and pastas go!
-Calcium rich foods such as leafy dark greens, soy, and nuts.
-Keep stress under control. life is hectic, but learning to keep it managed will help a lot! People who are emotional eaters can be at big risk that can lead to obesity. Find a way to keep your emotions under control. You can manage stress by writing in a journal, walking, talking to a friend, getting a massage or picking up a hobby!
- Sleep! make sure you are getting at least 7 hours of sleep! Getting enough sleep with speed your metabolism, maintain beautiful clear skin, and decrease amount of stress. When you arn't getting enough sleep, hormones called ghrelin and leptin can go out of balance. Which leads to your feelings of hunger to be out of balance. Try to keep a consistent sleep schedule and place an importance upon your rest.
-Move it move it! Be active! Exercise will help you burn calories and help tone your body!
